Ministry of Health Holdings has announced when they will be coming to Australia to do their annual recruitment talks. For us in Melbourne, that would be 12th June, venue still to be confirmed.

Graduating students especially might want to take note of this date.

MOHH recruitment drive in Melbourne – Details

The Ministry of Health Holdings will be coming down to Melbourne!

With effect from 1 May 09, all employment of HOs and MOs will be under MOH Holdings.

MOH Holdings is making a recruitment trip to Australia and New Zealand from 29 May – 10 June 09. MOHH is looking to recruit House Officers and Medical Officers. We would like to invite all medical student, House Officers and Medical Officers to join us for the presentation if they are interested to join or find out more about MOHH.

We will be in Melbourne on Sunday, 07 June 09. This presentation will be different from past SingHeath and NHG’s talks. So if you would like to find out more what it meant for you to work in Singapore, then you should come for the talk!

The details of the talk are as follows:

Cancellation of May 7th event with Prof Satku

Dear members of SMSV and fellow Singaporeans,

Due to the Swine Flu outbreak that is affecting various parts of the world, Prof. Satku has to remain in
Singapore to oversee the preparation to deal with this new threat.

Prof. Satku expresses his regret that he has to defer this engagement.

MOHH annual recruitment drive in Melbourne

To all final years and medical students!

Please keep your 6th/7th June free as MOH Holdings will be coming to melbourne for their annual recruitment drive for houseman as well as to provide more information about working in Singapore.  This is also a good opportunity for medical students to meet up with doctors who are coming from Singapore.

Starting this year, the recruitment of house officers will be by MOHH and not individually by Singhealth and NHG.

For the final years who are keen on going back to Singapore to work as a houseman and are wondering how to go about with your application, the details are as follows:

1) MOHH will be setting up a registration portal on their website for those who would like to register their attendance for interviews to indicate which state, session and interviews wanted.
2) Please send your CV to sockleng.tan@mohh.com.sg so that arrangements for an interview can be made.

The Overseas Singaporean Unit (OSU) and the Singapore Medical Society of Victoria (SMSV) cordially invite you to a sharing session and dinner reception with Professor Satku K. Satku, Director of Medical Services, Ministry of Health, Singapore.

Professor Satku will speak about career prospects, opportunities for specialization, remuneration and related matters concerning medical / allied healthcare professionals’ in Singapore. He will be covering issues such as

  • Work-life balance for the medical and healthcare professionals in Singapore
  • Singaporean and foreign medical and healthcare professionals in the Singapore medical landscape

SMSV Launch & NHG Career Talk – 2nd and 3rd May 2008

With a ‘pop’ of the champagne bottle and amongst many happy faces, the Singapore Medical Society of Victoria (SMSV) was officially launched on the 3rd of May this year. This event was proudly sponsored by the National Healthcare Group (NHG) and was held in conjunction with the NHG Australia Recruitment Seminar 2008, which spanned over 2 days – 2nd and 3rd of May.

It was not an event to be missed as participants (regardless of which year they were in their medical career) not only had a chance to find out more about what SMSV has to offer to members, but also had the golden opportunity to speak with key representatives from NHG (as listed below) and discuss about the working and even elective placement opportunities in Singapore. The session provided an opportunity for medical students to gain a detailed understanding of working in the Singapore Healthcare industry, regardless of one’s nationality.

Singhealth Career Talk – 6th and 7th of March, 2008

The Singapore Medical Society of Victoria (SMSV) in collaboration with Singapore Healthcare (Singhealth) presented the Singhealth Career Information Session held on the 6th and 7th of March, 2008. This session provided comprehensive and current information regarding Singhealth and the Singapore medical industry. The event was attended by International and Australian medical students (in any year of the medical course) interested in training and working as a Doctor in Singapore. The presentation covered the following aspects:

4. Employment with Singhealth
