Overseas Singaporean Unit (OSU)

Following the success of the inaugural Med Students’ Forum (MSF), the 2^nd edition of MSF was held on 19^th January 2010 in Singapore, MOH Auditorium, in the College of Medicine Building.

Titled “Crossroads”, the session explored tacky issues surrounding the new residency programme, touching on topics such as the provision of well-being of doctors in the new system and the development of the healthcare sector in Singapore. Career prospects and the likely hotbeds of specialisation in the medical fields in the future, were also covered during the presentation. Following intermission, 2 Australia-graduated doctors spoke about their experiences working back home and their transition to Singapore’s healthcare system. As current medical officers, they offered the most up-to-date perspectives on the present situation.

With over 200 medical students from universities all over Australia attending the event, MSF concluded once again with a rousing applause and we thank everyone for their continuous support
